Sportag Timing Technology to be used for 2008 Lincoln Memorial!
The End Result Company in partnership with IPICO Sports, will be using the latest in timing technology for the 2008 Lincoln Memorial Half Marathon presented by Prairie Heart Institute. The Sportag, developed by Peoria, IL-based IPICO Sports, will be used to time all runners in the race. Sportags are the latest development in event timing and the technology allows for event results in real-time. Visit IPICO Sports for more information!
Accelerade, Accel Gel, and Endurox R4 to support LM runners on-course and post-race!
The organizers of the Lincoln Memorial Half Marathon are proud to announce the sponsorship of Accelerade, Accel Gel and Endurox R4 for the 2008 race.
Accelerade will be the official on-course sports drink available at all six hydration stops. Accel Gel will be the official on-course gel available at the hydration stop near mile eight. Endurox R4 will be available to all participants in the finish line corral as the official recovery drink of the LM.
Sammy's Sports Bar & Grill to host LM post-event party!
Sammy's Sports Bar & Grill, located in downtown Springfield and within walking distance of the Lincoln Memorial Half Marathon finish line and awards area, will be the official host of the LM Post-Race Party on Saturday, April 5, 2008.
In keeping with our Lincoln theme, all race participants will get their first domestic beer FOR ONE PENNY...just show your bib to the bartender. Sammy's will have other specials as well, including a bucket of five Michelob Ultras for $10! The post-race fun at Sammy's will begin immediately following the conclusion of the LM Awards Ceremony (scheduled for 10:30 a.m.).

Springfield's Lincoln Memorial Half Marathon named "Endorsed" Event for Illinois Lincoln Bicentennial
Organizers of the Lincoln Memorial Half Marathon announced today that the race has been named an officially “endorsed” event by the Illinois Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. By obtaining “endorsed” status, the Lincoln Memorial Half Marathon will be included among the premier events celebrating the life of Abraham Lincoln as the Lincoln Bicentennial approaches in 2009.
